In 2011, Cat Cocos launched its Isle of La Digue Ferry. The high-speed catamaran was introduced to offer passengers a more direct service from Mahe to La Digue. The ferry can carry up to 227 passengers and, like all Cat Cocos ferries, offers both Economy and Business class cabins. Economy class passengers can travel in the fully air-conditioned Coco de Mer Cabin on the main deck or outside on the Island Hopper Upper Deck. Business Class passengers have their own dedicated cabin - Lazio Lounge - on the upper deck.
A shared shuttle bus transfer to/from the Mahe, Praslin or La Digue ferry jetty is available to all Cat Cocos passengers (fees apply). Buses leave Mahe Airport up to 1 hour before the scheduled ferry departure time. Hotel pick-ups are approx. 45-90 minutes before departure (depending on which island you're on and the distance between your hotel and the jetty).
It is recommended to arrive at the jetty at least 1 hour in advance, giving you time to check in your luggage. You will receive Boarding Passes by email approx. 24 hours before departure. If, for some reason, you do not have your boarding pass when you get to the jetty, simply visit the Creole Travel Services office for assistance. Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure at the Cat Cocos Berth in Victoria, with the Boarding Gate closing 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Luggage Allowances
Each passenger is permitted 1 piece of carry-on/cabin baggage not to exceed 7kg, with maximum dimensions of 50cm X 30 cm X 20cm. Cabin baggage above this size will be considered 'checked baggage' and stowed accordingly.
- Economy Class: Maximum allowance = 25kg
- Business Class: Maximum allowance = 30kg

Just like its sister vessels, the Isle of la Digue Ferry has been built to the highest international standards. Designed by Incat Crowther and built by Richardson Devine Marine, this 26-metre high-speed catamaran is powered by two MTU 12V2000 M70 engines, each producing 1055hp @ 2100 rpm. Propulsion is via ZF gearboxes through to two 5-bladed propellers, with trim and ride control being managed by a Humphree active interceptor trim-tab system. The main internal deck seats up to 163 passengers, with another 48 economy seats on the outside upper deck and 16 business class seats. The Isle of La Digue is fully equipped with the latest safety equipment, including life jackets, life rafts, fire extinguishers and life rings, as well as GPS navigation and VHF Ship-to-Shore radio.

What is the cost of a ferry ticket from Mahe to La Digue?
- The cost of a Mahe to La Digue ferry ticket is €72 (one-way) for adults (Main Inside Cabin) and €42 (one-way) for children aged 2 to 11 years.
- You can upgrade to the Upper Outside Deck for an additional €6 per adult/child or to Business Class for an extra €24 per adult and €18 per child.
- A Port Fee of €2 (one-way) will be added to each adult ticket. Children and Infants are exempt.
- A return ticket simply costs double the one-way ticket price.
