After approximately an hour, it makes a short 15-30-minute stopover in Praslin, arriving at the Praslin Jetty (ERO Passenger Terminal) in Baie Ste. Anne. Once passengers bound for Praslin have disembarked, the Mahe La Digue ferry continues on its route with a 15-minute crossing to La Digue Harbour. The best way to get from Mahe to La Digue

The Cat Cocos high-speed ferries are the best way of getting from Mahe to La Digue! And with the introduction of their newest vessel - Isle of La Digue Star - you can be sure your inter-island crossing will be smooth from start to finish.

Like its sister vessels, it also offers a choice of Economy and Business Class cabins. Its 300-passenger capacity is split over two decks: Economy class passengers can travel in the fully air-conditioned Coco de Mer Cabin on the main deck or outside on the Island Hopper Upper Deck. Business Class passengers have their own dedicated cabin - Lazio Lounge - also situated on the upper deck.

Boarding Process

When travelling from Mahe to La Digue, you should arrive at the Mahe Jetty at least 1 hour in advance, giving you time to check in your luggage. You will receive a digital Boarding Pass by email approximately 24-48 hours before departure. If, for some reason, you do not have your boarding pass when you get to the jetty, simply visit the Creole Travel Services jetty office for assistance.

Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure at the Cat Cocos Berth, with the Boarding Gate closing 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

During the short stopover in Praslin, passengers travelling with Cat Cocos from Mahe to La Digue will usually remain on the same vessel. Occasionally, it may be necessary to transfer from one Cat Cocos ferry to another. Should this happen, don't worry; the Cat Cocos crew will transfer your luggage between vessels. The same applies to the journey back from La Digue to Mahe, where the crew would transfer your luggage to the Praslin to Mahe ferry.

Baggage Allowance

Every passenger (except infants) is allowed to bring one piece of carry-on baggage not exceeding 7kg with maximum dimensions of 50cm X 30 cm X 20cm. Any cabin baggage above this size will be considered ‘checked baggage’ and will be stowed in the cargo compartment.

In addition, each paying passenger is allowed the following checked baggage:
  • Economy Class: Maximum allowance = 25kg
  • Business Class: Maximum allowance = 30kg

Multiple pieces are permitted as long as the total weight of all pieces does not exceed the maximum allowance. Excess Luggage will be charged at €3.00 per kilo.

Airport and Hotel Transfers

Shared shuttle bus transfers to the Mahe Jetty from the airport or your hotel are available to all Cat Cocos passengers when booking your Mahe to La Digue ferry tickets with Seychellesbookings.com (transfer fees apply).

Buses leave Mahe International Airport up to 1 hour before the scheduled ferry departure time. Hotel pick-ups are usually between 45 and 90 minutes before departure, depending on how far your hotel is from the jetty.

On arrival in La Digue, shared taxi transfers can be booked to take you from the La Digue Harbour in La Passe to your hotel or guesthouse. Some accommodations offer complimentary transfers from the jetty, so always check with them first before booking a La Digue transfer.
